UK stock indices rose at the end of today’s session

Stocks in the United Kingdom closed higher at the end of trading on Tuesday, as indices were accompanied to the upside, and gains were recorded in the sectors of tourism and entertainment, real estate investment funds, software and computer services.

At the close in London, Investing.com Britain 100 added 0.24%.

The top performers of the session on the Investing.com UK 100 were Intermediate Capital Group PLC (LON:ICP), which rose 5.89% or 127.00 points to trade at 2283.00 at the close. On the other hand, the stock Flutter Entertainment PLC (LON:FLTRF) continued to rise at 3.98% or 525.0 points and closed at 13715.0, while InterContinental Hotels Group PLC (LON:IHG) increased by 3.86% or 192.0 points to 5166.0 at the end of the session. .

As for the weakest performance at the end of today’s trading, the stock of Centrica PLC (LON:CNA) closed down at 1.95% or 1.04 points and traded at 52.38 levels at the close. Shares of Taylor Wimpey PLC (LON:TW) declined 1.90% or 3.30 points to trade at 170.05, and Smith&Nephew PLC (LON:SN) stock closed down 1.90% or 28.50 points to 1472.50.

The number of decliners exceeded the number of shares that closed on the rise trading on the London Stock Exchange with 1162 compared to 1025, while 253 remained unchanged.

Shares of Intermediate Capital Group PLC (LON:ICP) climbed to an all-time high, rising 5.89% or 127.00 points at 2283.00.

Gold futures contracts for August delivery fell 0.29% or 5.45 and closed at $1893.35 an ounce. As for other commodities trading, the WTI crude oil futures contract for July delivery rose 0.64% or 0.44 and reached a price of $69.67 a barrel, while the August contract for Brent oil rose by 0.42% or 0.30 points, and closed at $71.79 a barrel.

The GBP/USD pair lost 0.22% and traded at levels of 1.4147, while the EUR/GBP pair continued to rise towards 0.18% and reached 0.8610 levels.

The dollar index contracts traded with an increase of 0.15% at the level of 90.082.
